Category and Purchasing Manager

Talent Search has been entrusted with recruiting for ÖoB, which is seeking to strengthen its management team with an experienced and business-minded manager for category management and strategic purchasing.

As Category and Purchasing Manager, you are a key strategic asset to the business. You ensure that ÖoB meets its business strategy goals by leading the organization toward the established efficiency and profitability targets. You’ll be supported by your own team of approximately 35 employees, 5 of whom report directly to you.

Your responsibilities at the strategic level:

• A member of the management team.
• Overall responsibility for the strategic and operational development of procurement in accordance with established processes.
• Increase your store's profitability with a product lineup designed to offer Sweden's lowest purchase prices.
• Drive profitable sales through clear, business-oriented pricing and sales management strategies.

Your responsibilities at the operational level:

• Develop and evaluate a profitable sales management system by coaching and motivating employees in each team.
• Drive development within the function by identifying skill gaps that can support our long-term business needs.
• Identify customer needs and create the conditions for effective category management within the purchasing process.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is highly results- and business-oriented and who, through analysis and follow-up, can build a sustainable and profitable business. The position requires solid experience at the strategic level in an international environment, preferably in the retail sector and with a focus on purchasing.

Your experiences:

• Extensive experience in global procurement.
• Many years of experience in purchasing and category management in the grocery retail industry.
• Extensive knowledge and long experience in retail.

Education:

• A bachelor's degree in purchasing/business administration or equivalent knowledge.
• Additional training courses in Purchasing and Space Management.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written.

In addition, documented experience in the following is required:

• Leadership by middle managers at the strategic and operational levels.
• Procurement and negotiation activities, both nationally and internationally.
• Product portfolio development, with a focus on profitability.

As a person, you are driven by delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and are accustomed to change management, which is particularly important during the integration with our new owner, Europris. The position’s many points of contact require that you be able to express yourself professionally and that you conduct yourself in a presentable and businesslike manner.

• Have experience working at a strategic level with an operational and tactical background.
• Have the ability to handle a wide range of issues related to procurement.

• Have extensive experience in supplier negotiations, category management, and sales management in the retail sector.

The position is based at our service office in Skänninge; flexible commuting options can be discussed during
the process.

As Category and Purchasing Manager, you will be part of the management team and report directly to the CEO.
